Starts in Mundania, ends in Xanth.

This is another Piers Anthony book that I don't really know how to classify. The concept is interesting but doesn't seem to deliver for me. The climax comes at the very end of the book but there is hardly any climax. All the characters over-reason situations with each other too much in this book. If you have read alot of Piers work, then you will be used to this but this book is nearly all dialogue. When each character has the same personality it becomes difficult to read. The book is short, but I was so bored reading it that I felt it would never end. I feel like there should have been some falling action and we might learn what became of Rowan's parents or her guardian's.

The worst of this book comes in the form of several typographical errors. It is clear that there was no editor or that it was Piers himself acting as editor. It seems like he just hammered this book out during a marathon session at the computer. Much more thought and creativity could have gone into this book.

    Excellent Read!

As usual Piers Anthony delights with his play on words and his fanciful worlds. A treasure and pleasure to read.

    very cute

Being a huge fan of Piers Anthony's work, I wanted to try out his childrens book. I was quite impressed with the imaginative plot, that sucked me into the world in true Xanth fashion. I recommend this book to young readers who would like to dive into their first Piers Anthony book.
