A terrific book for tennis and sports fans
'Total Tennis' is a page-turner if you're looking for revealing and lively features about present and past champions. The chapters about the most famous tournaments are also engrossing. The vast amount of statistical information about hundreds of players during the history of tennis makes this encyclopedia an unsurpassed reference book. I most of all enjoyed the exciting year-by-year summaries of what happened in the tennis world from 1919 to 2002 -- or put another way, from Suzanne (Lenglen) to Serena (Williams). The reason Bud Collins is in the Hall of Fame is because he knows tennis better and writes it better than anyone else. This encyclopedia is a testament to that. This is a book for the ages and for all ages, and one you will read and often re-read.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
