Great cooperative family game!
We got this game as a Christmas gift. I had never heard of it before, but I was willing to give it a try. As the title of this review says, it is a cooperative game. In this case, all of the players are working together to collect 4 treasures and escape to safety before the island sinks. A quick search online turned up some reviews/ tutorials. The directions are well-written and simple enough that it's probably not necessary to watch the videos, but I think the videos helped my kids to get a better idea about the game and allowed them to see how it was played. I played this game with my 3 kids (ages 6, 7 and 9). The game was at the perfect level for them and the cooperative aspect of the game lent itself to discussions of strategy. It was nice to see them working together during a game, instead of trying to beat each other! If you're looking for an inexpesive, fun strategy game to play with your kids, I'd highly recommend this one. This is a game that your family can play over and over (because of the cards used to compose the game board are randomly placed, the board is different every time). Forbidden Island is a game that can be enjoyed by adults, as well as the kids!

Great game!
I got this game for my 9 year old daughter for her birthday. I wanted a good game for her and I to play together. We both love it. It's a different game every time. We've played with 4 people and it's just as fun with 2-4 people. I love that it requires teamwork to win, and either everyone wins or everyone dies. I also really appreciate that I don't have to keep score while playing. We have a ton of games, and this is our new favorite.

Fantastic game that is great for kids and adults!
I've had a blast playing this cooperative board game with my kids. The rules are simple enough: you may take three actions per turn in the hopes of helping your team to grab the four idols and escape the island before it sinks. After you take your three actions you receive an award of two treasures, but then the island sinks. This has been a great game to help the kids work through making optimal decisions and using limited resources. It is captivating for adults as well, unlike some 'kids' games where the logic needed is boring for an adult. Highly recommend!

Found a Different Use- Confusing Instructions
My friends and I didn't quite understand the instructions. However, I found a rather different use. See, I used the places and pieces to write a rather interesting, if I do say so myself, story.
So I didn't get a full use out of it... But if you want to take time to understand the instructions, I bet it'd be a good game.0 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
