Insightful Journey
I found this book very enlightening and appreciated the personal perspective vs. the political slant I expected. During the election, Sarah's gaffes gave ample opportunity for the press to paint the Palin portrait with one color. Trailblazer reflects the journey that paved the way for her seemingly baffling appointment as the Vice Presidential nominee in a way that begins to shed light and understanding on what poised Palin for this position. Given the roar from the crowd that what made her special was that she is "just one of us," I thought the author's choice to tell the story in a straight forward and simple manner accurately reflected the same ease in which people connect with Palin. I found it to be an honest and unbiased account of the story preceding her tipping point which led to an explosion on the world stage.

Save you money! Don't buy "Trailblazer: An intimate biography of Sarah Palin"
Like many intrigued by the emergence of Sarah Palin on the national scene, I looked forward to reading the anticipated books about Governor Palin¿s life and achievements. Foolishly, I snapped up the first post-election book, Trailblazer: An intimate biography of Sarah Palin, by Lorenzo Benet. Never have I been so disappointed. Trailblazer is more anti-Palin stereotyping than anything else. It could have been written by someone in the Obama campaign or their surrogates on MSNBC, CNN, or any of the other Obama support groups. I would not recommend this amateurish book to anyone other than the Obama people who are not interested in reality. The book is unorganized, poorly researched (I¿m being charitable), and seems to be pure propaganda on a scale that would make Joseph Goebbels proud. Benet goes so far as to feign disbelief in Palin's assertion, shared by many notwithstanding Al Gore's musings, that global temperatures are related to solar activity. His analysis of the vice-presidential debate between Palin and the factually challenged Biden is farcical. Suffice it to say that he was watching a different debate than the one I watched. The number of errors made by Biden in that debate was staggering. Governor Palin made only one...mispronouncing general McKiernan's name. I could go on and on. I will close by saying that anyone who wants to read an objective and factual account of Governor Palin should not waste their money on this deceptive book. One can obtain the same anti-Palin claptrap by watching the Keith Olbermann show and save their money in the process. Trailblazer: An intimate biography of Sarah Palin is neither intimate nor a biography.

american success story
"trailblazer" is a very indepth book that I found very hard to put down. the arthur has done a remarkable job interviewing governor sarah palin and spending many weeks with her and learning alot about her political and home life. I found this book very fasinating after seeing her run for the office of vice president. I did not realize that this lady had so much leadership experience until I read this book. she has moved her way up from city council to mayor to governor to vice presidenial candidate. this is a very intresting bestseller since she is thinking about running for president it has alot of fasinating details to learn about a future presidential candididate. great gift idea for a friend or family member

Awesome
Sarah Palin was a controversial candidate for vice president. You either loved her or hated her. But People Correspondent Lorenzo Benet doesn't pander to the left or the right in this biography. He has put together a balanced account that explains why Palin is likely to be a political force in America for decades to come. With anecdotes and inside sources, Benet creates a page turner about the Alaskan governor. Whether you love her or hate her, this is a great way to get to know more about her. I give TrailBlazer my highest recommendation.

Fourteen and all
This is a great book to read! I think everyone should give it a try. Most of the begining of the book is about Sarahs life, but twards the middle of the story it gets more into her love for politics. If a fourteen year old loved it, you will too.

Horrible
One of the most horrible biographies I have ever read. Shallow, poorly researched, poorly written: obviously slapped together with little effort and no concern for the unsuspecting reader who bought the book thinking that he or she would gain some worthwhile insight into the purported character of the "book".
