There is hardly any other structure that symbolizes fantasy as well as does a treehouse. It os no wonder then that kids of all ages have gravitated to building and inhabiting tree houses for generations. he "Treehouses of the World" takes you on a journey of discovery of some of the most incredible and innovative treehouses out there.

The book covers many different types of treehouses: from the more modest yet imaginative tree-platforms to some very ambitious multistory arboreal abodes. All of the tree houses seem to be made with a lot of artistry and care, and the enthusiasm of the creators for their work is almost palpable. The book is beautifully designed, and each tree house is represented with one large photograph and one or two smaller ones. For the most part the photographs speak for themselves, but there is usually a small accompanying textual explanation as well.

This book makes a great coffe-tabe book as well as a wonderful gift idea. Would warmly recommend it to anyone who has at any point enjoyed or imagined living in a tree house of their own. It is also a great source of ideas for possible tree house designs.

Absolutely fantastic photos of all kinds of treehouses. Plus there are explanations as to why some things are done this way and some done that way. Technical details abound between the glorious photography. A book to be left on your coffee table in your treehouse and available for browsing and savoring a bit at a time Look out though - some of Pete's excitement over treehouses comes through the book!

    Wonderful!

Our family loves this book!Treehouses are magical to begin with and these are spectacular ones all over the world. When we were kids we used scrap lumber, blankets and our imaginations to make our treehouses. The treehouses featured here are better than anything we could ever imagine! My kids will look at the pictures for hours and we add it to the vacation book bag whenever we go on roadtrips.

    I Also Recommend:

    Fantasy Escapism

I have always had a fantasy for tree houses Ever since I saw the movie Swiss Family Robinson as a kid back in the 60's.
Nelson and Kurzaj brings the fantasy AND technology that allows the building of awesome and structurally sound structures into this book. They have the same reverence as I do for the well being of stately trees and how to best incorporate that philosophy placing an alien thing into a living organism.
