Amateurish and predictable
I was really disappointed with this book, and wonder how other reviewers could rate it highly. His characters are shallow and predictable. Emma, who is supposed to be a brilliant young woman, is more like a naive teenager. His Israeli and Arab characters are personifications of stereotypical prejudices, as is his depiction of the political situation. e.g. He depicts Israeli cities as subject to suicide bombs. In reality, there hasn't been a suicide bomb there in four years. His "hero", Abe Ringel is quite obviously a highly idealized alter ego. The settings and events are contrived and predictable, not suspenseful. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
