    Transition

The second book in the Left Behind series focuses again on our main characters: pilot Rayford Steele and his daughter Chloe, reporter Cameron "Buck" Williams, and pastor Bruce Barnes. They have formed their own band of believers, they know that Nicolae Carpathia is the Antichrist, and now what will they do?

Rayford and Buck begin to work for Nicolae and his regime (Nicolae creates "Global Everything") and quickly realize that their status as believers is best kept undercover so they can keep working with the other Trib Force members. Some personal relationships are further developed but seem a little awkward in their interactions.

To me, this was sort of a setting the scene book. It is necessary to get from one place to the next, just was not my favorite of all of them....but, I enjoyed it just the same

    Highly recommend.

Highly recommend. LaHaye and Jenkins weave a wonderful story and also cover lots of information from Revelations in today's language. Love this series. I am reading it for the second time.

    I Also Recommend:

Four Individuals, The Tribulation Force Versus The Antichrist

Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins in their book "Tribulation Force" Book Two in the Left Behind series published by Tyndale House Publishers continues the Drama of Those Left Behind .

In "Left Behind" Book One of this series the rapture occurs and millions of Christian believers suddenly disappear. Now the world is trying to recover from the economic chaos and the destruction this caused. Captain Rayford Steele, his daughter Chloe, journalist Buck Williams, and pastor Bruce Barnes band together as The Tribulation Force to study the Bible, pray, and support one another through this time of terror and uncertainty. They realize that Nicolae Carpathia is the prophesied Antichrist, as they watch him consolidate his power. Buck and Rayford find themselves employees of Nicolae, keeping their faith in Jesus secret so that they can continue to work and share their faith unhindered while secretly fighting him.

In addition to all this the world has to deal with the wrath of God as the time has now come for the tribulation, the last seven years before the triumphal return of Jesus. There are earthquakes and major upheavals in the planet that those that are left have to deal with at a substantial cost of human life. "Tribulation Force" causes us to see what life will be like after the Christians are removed and gives us the opportunity to become a Christian now and pass on these coming seven years of tribulation.

Dr. LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins provide a fictional background for the real events that the final book of The Bible, Revelation, speak about: the end times. The Biblical accuracy in"Tribulation Force" is flawless and the story is a page turning thriller. There are wonderful themes: salvation, faith in what you cannot see and who is in charge despite appearances to the contrary. I do not recommend starting this book late at night because it will cost you sleep as you will not want to put it down. Mr. Jenkins is an excellent writer and knows how to twist your nerve endings as he tightens the suspense. I am looking forward to book three in this series.

    Great End Times Fiction!

This second book in the "Left Behind" series is an awesome read! I read this entire series while I was on a 6 week bed rest. I was stuck at home, nothing to do, nowhere to go and feeling a bit sorry for myself. These books, beginning with this one, made me so excited for Jesus' return and made me want to dig deeper into my bible.

The plot is good, the good characters are likeable, the evil characters hate-able (and sometimes pretty laughable), and it stays as true to God's word as possible... if you're a pre-millenial rapture kinda believer. Even if you don't know where you stand on that issue, this book is still a must read. It's not only good entertainment but is also very thought-provoking whether you believe this it the way it will all happen in the end or not. This book is similar to the movie (if you've seen in and I highly recommend it, too). But, like with all movies, the book is ALWAYS better. This book takes place after the Rapture (which happened in the 1st book) and goes through the beginning of The Great 7-year Tribulation. It'll make you hungry to read your bible and I know at least a couple people who gave their lives to Jesus because of reading it.

I give this book 4 stars because the writing is just common-place. I'm a reader of classic literature and only give 5 stars to truly amazing reads. I think you'll love this book, though, especially if you're eagerly awaiting Christ's return or trying to find out what Christianity is all about. This book will definitely entertain you and may even change your life.

After the Rapture - Now what?

The second book in the best-selling Left Behind series showcases Rayford Steele, Cameron "Buck" Williams, other family members, and the evil Nicolae Carpathia. Rayford, his daughter Chloe, and Buck explore their new found faith in God, and together forge a collation that will be called the Tribulation Force. Entering the drama is a Dr. Chaim Rosennzweig, an Israeli scientist, with an uncanny knowledge of Scriptures. Together the Trib Force attempt to survive the mining work of the world's new dictator Carpathia. The authors' latent work on the theme climaxes to what the Christian book of Revelation refers to as the Red Horse of Death. This was a book I reviewed for Tyndale House Publishers.

    Trib Force

"Tribulation Force" is the second is the series of books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins chronicling the events that take place in the world during the end times. The books follow several main characters as they fight for their lives and for their faith as the world makes its way to the last days. In this book, the Rapture has occurred, and now the characters from the first book decide to form a force (the "Tribulation Force") to fight the evil that is coming to the world. Rayford and Buck find themselves working for the person who they believe is the Antichrist, and it is only a matter of time before their faith in the true Christ is known. This series of novels is a fictionalized account of the events of the end times. I enjoyed the whole series, and this book was good, but I think I enjoyed "Left Behind" better than this one. What I did like about this book was how the characters have decided to do something about their situation instead of just letting things happen to them. They take action and start to fight for their faith instead of being passive and just letting things happen. While this book is geared towards Christians, there is enough action and depth to it that should appeal to all.

A great object lesson for today!

Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkin's Tribulation Force, the second book in the Left Behind Series, picks up after the cliff-hanger ending of book one. Nicholae Carpathia becomes the Supreme Potentate of the UN and astounds the world by manipulating a true peace between Israel and the rest of the Middle East. The folks who are left behind then begin experiencing the eighteen months of peace, which the Bible prophesies will follow that agreement.

During this time of peace, the main characters Buck, Rayford, and Chloe seek the help of church assistant Bruce Barnes to study the Scriptures. Soon they realize that the Rapture took all believing Christians from the earth and that-according to Bible prophecy-what will follow is a seven-year Tribulation period before Christ comes again. They also become convinced of their need for the Savior and give their lives to Christ. Most evangelical groups refer to those who believe in Christ after the Rapture as Tribulation Saints. So young Chloe nicknames their group, The Tribulation Force.

Though they understand from the Bible that evil will be unleashed on earth during the Tribulation period, the members of the Tribulation Force cannot sit idly by and watch it happen. They become key players in world history-Rayford pilots Carpathia's plane, Buck heads the Global Community Weekly-and even manage moments of joy when they fall in love and marry. Then World War III breaks out and . . . well, I guess you'll have to read or re-read the series to discover what happens next.

Though this book is fiction, it was a great object lesson to me concerning how folks-power-hungry leaders, foolish celebrities, everyday people with their heads in the sand-can cry out "Peace, peace," when anyone around them can clearly see that there is no peace. I see this attitude of denial in the world today.

At the time they were first published (beginning in 1995), the books in the Left Behind Series were truly forerunners. They expanded the Christian fiction genre, paved the way for other inspirational authors, and highlighted what the Bible has to say about the future. I hope a whole new generation will discover this exciting series!

    NO NOOKbook version?!?!?!

Excuse my language, but WTH???? I have this ENTIRE series in hardback and recently started traveling and had started reading the series again. I could've brought all the hardbacks with me, but thought it would just be better to buy them on my nook as I read them so I didn't have to travel for the next month with 13 big hard books in tow...so I checked saw that the Left Behind books were available, but I never dreamed that all but a few were available! What a RIP OFF!!!! I should've gotten a Kindle. They have them ALL available. You suck.

    Must Read!

Tribulation Force is the start of the whole thing. I love how the Pastor Bruce Barnes is teaching the others what they are about to go through. He was himself an associate pastor and left behind while his family was taken. There are so many situations dealt with in this story and they are dealt with realistically. I love Jerry Jenkins writing and they way the characters were developed. Tim LaHaye teaches the scripture. I learned so much from reading this book. Wonderful read for any christian or anyone needing answers.

Great way to learn more about what could happen during the Tribulation

Tribulation Force is a great read for those wanting to understand more about what could happen during the End Times. I found the resilience of the characters during such a trying time in history to be extremely encouraging. They had to endure through trials that we can hardly begin to imagine, all while maintaining their faith in Christ. While I was somewhat disappointed that the story skipped a period of 18 months, I understand that there are a lot of details in this 7 year period that probably need to be included instead. I have really enjoyed this series so far and am encouraged by the story to learn more about what might happen during the Tribulation.

    The Story Continues

Book Two of the Left Behind series, Tribulation Force, picks up where Left Behind left off---the world is still stuck in confusion, a leader who desires to take advantage of the chaos emerges more than ever, and the small band of believers in Illinois who truly understand the magnitude of all that is going on are branching out and spreading the Good News. This book takes more of a logistical twist, however, in how the story unfolds. Whereas in Book One, the reader got to know the characters and learned of their paths to Christ, in Book Two the reader gets to understand just how these characters will come to play major roles in the politics of the Tribulation, as several of them enter the employ of the Antichrist himself.

With the advent of serial dramas on television in the last decade (shows like Lost, 24, etc.), the idea of the ongoing, year-after-year story is now nothing new. But when I was just a teenager and I picked up this Left Behind series for myself, I was mystified, and I seriously could not wait until the next year when these authors would pump out the next installment of these fictionalized End-Times events. I have loved this series for years, and even when a favorite character got killed off and I was sad to see him go, I knew for sure that the authors did not play with their characters lightly, and I that could trust that they had the whole series worked out. Even though I know the ending (Jesus wins), I was still perpetually enthralled by the imaginations of Jenkins and LaHaye.

Second installment in the Left Behind series...

This may not be the best of the Left Behind series but is still a good read. I enjoyed hearing more about what happens to the characters (Chloe is one of my favorites) and was drawn into the political intrigue. Worth reading and continuing on with the series!

    OK BOOK

I like the left beind seris by jenkins/lahaye but one thing is that they are confusing fiction with reality and that kinda bothered me,but over all it was good.
