    Dark humor

A disappointing sequel to the original. Selling the family dog [and lying about it] is bad enough, but when Walter is forced to endure cruel treatment, I couldn't help but wonder how the Humane Society would react. Not for small children.

    Disgusting, disappointing book

The vile concept of a dog with flatulence is one thing, but a bank robbing clown is not appropriate for children. The entire book is disgusting. It is amazing what passes for literature worthy of publication these days. If negative ratings were possible, this book would rate a negative 5.

    First Walter book better

Disappointed with Father selling Walter and then lying to the kids about where Walter was. Father never acknowledges selling Walter or apologizes. What lesson does this teach our kids. Had I read the story first, I would not have sent it to my grandson.

    A favorite!

Walter books are entertaining and funny for kids and the adult reader also! My grandkids love them and it's great fun to laugh together while reading. Highly recommend!

    It is funny to me.

I like the book because the dog is kind of stinky and he jumps on other people. On the first day, the people don't like the dog. I like the book.

    A real funny book

this book was funny and i really liked it because the dog passes gas alot and when you read it to little kids and you make a passing gas noise they laugh it is so funny. I really liked it cause it is a funny book and i would want to read it to littler kids. i really like to read to little kids but i dont like to read all that much like i used to but this is a funny book that i think that kids aged from 8-10 should read cause i think that they will like it.

As good as the first Walter book....!!

If you liked the first Walter book, you will appreciate this one as well. Same kind of humor, same fantastic illustrations. I would not recommend this for EVERY kid (or adult)....but if your children know when it is appropriate to use such humor and when it is impolite (like in school for example), then this book is great. Adults with an appreciation for the silly, ridiculous nature of this story will get a kick out of it, too. This book is a GAS! ha!! :O)

    Gaseous Fun

The title of this 32 page book kind of grossed me out at first, but as you read the story you are trapped in the humour of Walter's little problem. In this story, Walter is used by a crook to subdue security guards. While the situations are funny, the book of course deals with a subject that may not be suitable for all readers. In my opinion, the categorization in the 9-12 year group is too high. This book is better suited to younger readers. However, in reading this book to children, I would recommend parents play an active role in discussing the humour and its appropriateness for various social settings. Ifa parent is not willing to get into this discussion, then pass this one by.
