In this intensely emotional story Ms. Hannah gives us everything lovers of great literature crave, a timeless story, a great cast of characters and for you true romantics out there, everything you get out of bed in the morning for. This novel has all the bells and whistles, a family in turmoil, a love story worthy of a full box of tissues and some of the most memorable characters I've ever had the pleasure reading about.
I predict a number one on the bestseller list!

I bought this book after reading Firefly Lane - I loved that book and I wish I could say the same for this one. I only got about half way through this book. The character development was very surface and stereotypical - overweight smart girl versus beautiful cheerleader type, good looking jock type falls for cheerleader type, overweight sister jealous. There wasn't much depth to the book and it seemed like the writing was rushed.

    Just Ok

It was a mindlessly entertaining book after the first 50 pages or so. Compared to Winter Garden though, this book just doesn't even compare. The storyline of this book was very contrived and predictable. Good beach read

    TRUE COLORS

Easy reading, interesting characters and plot. Good rainy day or traveling book.

    Dissappointing after Firefly Lane

I did not get the in depth feel of the characters in True Colors that I felt in Firefly Lane. I think Hannah could have explored the relationships of the sisters to the father, and the fathers feelings after the death of the mother in more detail, to give a better feel of being connected to the characters. A good weekend escape but I had no problem putting it down to do other things. Firefly Lane kept me up until 3 a.m. finishing it. Between Sisters was also engrossing.

an OK read, if you've got the time

Too long, this book got bogged down about half way thru and s l o w l y made it's way to the end where the tempo picked up quite a bit.

Good but not as good as Firefly Lane

I think it would be tough to top Firefly Lane. Firefly Lane was my first Kristen Hannah book and I was anxiously awaiting the release of True Colors. I liked it well enough but was expecting it to blow me away like Firefly did.
