Loved this novella by Ms. Carr. She sure knows how to keep your attention on the story. Even though it was short, the story moved right along and we got to know the characters, James and Becca as being the type that are holding off on meeting Mr. and Mrs. Right. Meeting at an anti-Valentine party sure is memorable and their meetings after that made me cheer for them as they got to know each other. Loved their conversation about finally consummating their relationship and how silly they are with each other during such intimate discussions. I got to know them so well, I feel like they are my good friends. One of my favorite parts of the story was the epilogue.

Make sure you pick up a copy for a great feel-good story!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Turnaround is Cassandra Carr's contribution to the Red Hot Valen

Turnaround is Cassandra Carr's contribution to the Red Hot Valentine series. Turnaround is a novella featuring bartender James and his love interest Becca. Becca attends an anti-valentine's day party with her friend Annie. James is instantly attracted to Becca but neither of them date much so they both cautiously approach a relationship.

I found the story to be very sweet. I liked how it wasn't an insta-love. Even though it is a novella, the author managed to write about a six week relationship with a great love scene in a small amount of space. Plus I love the details that Cassandra thinks of. In this story, I loved the brief mention of Becca being taller then James. I know it is such a small detail but it is details like that that catch my eye and make the story more memorable.

I absolutely love novella's because they are a perfect distraction during my lunch breaks. This is definitely a keeper for me. Highly recommend.

James is working in a bar at night to help his mother with her medical bills. When Becca walks into the Austin bars Anti-Valentine's Day party, he's struck by her beauty. After talking to her, it's her personality that reels him in. This is a sweet, romantic story where they both learn to trust each other with their secrets while postponing passion until they are completely enveloped in love.
