Good Read for Thanksgiving
A different twist about Thanksgiving. The first reading scared a few of my kinder students simply because of the thought of killing an animal to eat was a little scary. But the children quickly came to love the story. The rhyming text draws the children in to listen for the entire story. It is consistently voted as a re-read with my children. Once again I stress the rhyming words and then we discuss the series of events that happen within the story. Check out the "The Night Before" series of books - promise these will be frequently requested as well.

I loved this book! So did my children and grandchildren.
You can't help but read this book aloud -- it sounds so familiar and you know you have never read it! Then, since you are in the end of the year holidays, you KNOW! - you are reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas". I usually do not like parodies of well known themes, but this book has such wonderful colorful illustrations of characters and events that tell more to the older reader (over toddler age) that are not explicitly in text, and just plain laugh out loud fun to share, that unconsciously knowing the rhythm adds to the enjoyment of reading it. My first, second and preschool grade grandchildren all had fun listening/reading "Twas the Night before Thanksgiving", as did their parents and this Grandma.

Funny Story for Kids
My 10 year old memorized this story last year at Thanksgiving for a school project. After hearing her rendition, our entire family thought it was a funny story that we needed to have at home to read for the holidays. Mom, dad, 10 year old, 6 year old and 3 year old all enjoy this tale!

Not for Toddlers
I bought this book w/ the expectation that it would be a cute story for a toddler. Please don't make this mistake! The farmer brings out an ax and says 'These feathery beasts will be chopped up and roasted for Thanksgiving'

A 5th Grade Teacher from Virginia
This book is outstanding! I read it to my students every year at Thanksgiving time and they think it is hilarious! I absolutely love Dav Pilkey's work and I highly recommend this book to all parents and teachers of elementary children.

As Cameron Laughs.....
This is a Fantastic and Humerous book! My 3 year old loved it! I read the book each night to him before Thanksgiving about 2 weeks....and each night he looked forward to seeing the school bus going to the field trip and seeing old Farmer Mac Nugget in his Polyester and Velcro!! Too cute and great antics. Highly recommend this to any parent to get their children into Thanksgiving and the love of a child and living.

Hilarious
This is one of the most hilarious children's books ever. I was a preschool teacher for several years and my students loved this book. Now, my own children love listening to it year round.

What Kathy Piehl missed.
After reading the book and considering what my 6 yr old daughter and 11 year old son had to say after reading it... I would offer this. It is entertaining to young minds, such as my 6 yr old, that are forming their own opinions on right and wrong. Some of the more advanced adult silliness was picked up by my 11 yr old. If you speak gibberish to a baby the child will only learn chibberish. Plus the book is just plane fun!!!
