How many of us have stuck with our New Year¿s resolutions? Anyon

How many of us have stuck with our New Year’s resolutions? Anyone? That’s because it’s hard to change and we view it as a grand linear process.  The minute we slack off, or miss, we reset to zero instead of making it a learning process and just part of being human. Then add the ‘balance of work and life’ – what an oxymoron!  Balance is in the eyes of the beholders, and beholders’ families, co-workers, friends and it seems we never get it right…because usually we don't.

Enter Cali Yost’s new book, Tweak it!  Finally! Finally! And I’m saying this to myself as well as to you – if this can’t help us make significant changes in our lives – making life and family and work fit together, then I’m not sure what can except a live-in person following your every move telling you what to do and not do.  Cali has given us a very very easy to understand, use and succeed process for making little changes in our lives that, when added up, have wonderful outcomes for ourselves and those we love, live with and work with.  She gives us real life examples each step along the way so we can learn from others and apply it.

Cali’s statement, “You commit to doing the practice as consistently as possible (but not perfectly)” sums it all up.  This is a race to perfection; it’s a journey to improving our lives one step at a time.  A step sideways or backwards is human; it doesn’t undo all the progress we’ve made.  Cali makes it clear this isn’t a zero-sum game – if we mess up it’s not a reset to zero, it’s another step long the path.

So, read the book, put it to practice and I’m betting you’ll notice the difference for yourself sooner than you think.  Not only will it help you, it will help how you support, encourage and teach those around you.  This is a New Year’s resolution that is easy to keep!
