Cute book, fast read. I like the idea of the twenty wishes, how the things on it can be "reach" like a trip to Paris or "fun" like a pair of red cowboy boots. Pure chicklit, don't read if you're looking for a lot of depth.

CD/Unabridged/Fiction: So, I knew by disc two how it was going to end. That was okay, because it was entertaining. It's the story of a group of widows who start a "20 Wishes" club. Ann Marie is the main character that get rooked into fostering a second grader. Her two friends, a mother and daughter (whose spouses died in a plane crash) find love too. The daughter with an angry paraplegic and the mother with a auto service manager. It is a Macomber novel so of course, it's happily ever after.

Great book for knitters and non-knitters alike

Part of the Blossom Street series, this is my first Debbie Macomber book. It did drag significantly in the beginning; I thought I would read my self-required 50 pages before abandoning the book. However, the action picked up and I was happy to finish the tale. Seattleite Ann Marie and several other widows see each other socially quite often and they each make a list of twenty wishes, things they wish for or want to do. It’s difficult for them to come up with the requisite number because some of the things initially written down seem so trivial. Is it ok to wish for things that are self-serving ot do the wishes need to make a bigger impact? Anne Marie begins volunteering at an elementary school and discovers that the little girl with whom she is matched as a lunch buddy may be giving her more than Anne Marie feels she is giving back. A warm, feel-good story that I high recommend. My next read—to start at the beginning of the Blossom Street books.

    Excellant!!!!!!

I was introduced to this author by an aquaintence, who gave me "A Good Yarn". I was immediately engrossed in the characters and had to read more. I did a search for this author, realized that I had read the 2nd book in a series and had to get them all!! I really enjoyed the story of friendships between women. All of the series was well written and difficult to put down. Twenty Wishes was one of my first ebooks for my Nook. Debbie Macomber is now one of my favorite authors.

    Fun and relaxing

read them all, start at the beginning and follow the characters along. They are fun and there is insite to gather from their problems and solutions. I have enjoyed all of her books but I like her series best because it is like a very long book. It just keeps going on with the charcters developing and offspring continuing on. I sprinkle them inbetween my heavier reading as a treat.

    This was a good book!

I beleive this was a very good book! The charectars and everything seemed to work together. It was right in line with all the other Blossom St. series books and refered to them and the folks from them that worked with this book. I really did appreciate it and was glad to see that it wasn't just a continuation.

    Debbie Macomber

Debbie Macomber writes with a wonderful flair. Her books are about real life issues, they are engaging, comforting, enlightening. The fact that she is a knitter and incorporates knitting into the novels adds a touch to them, not only does she incorporate it in the novels, she adds instructions for knitting, makes one want to learn how to knit. I also discovered that she even writes books on knitting various things. At the beginning of each chapter she has a quote from someone with knitting websites included or a book on knitting. I would recommend any of her books, but the Blossom Street series is wonderful, the setting is in Seattle and if you have been to Seattle you can identify with some of the places she mentions, as well as the weather and other things.

I want to live on Blossom Street

I look forward to this series. This book fits into the series well, but also stands on its own if it is the first one read by someone. The characters are well developed and their motivations strike a chord with things we all deal with every day. With each book, I am more determined to find Blossom Street and move there!

    A Nice Slow Read.

The story takes place in Seattle's Blossom Street. Although the reading is somewhat slow the characters kept me reading. It is based on a group of widowed women, both young and old, that form a bond. The main character is Anne Marie Roche. She is thirty-eight, childless and a recent widow. On Valentines Day the widows meet at Anne Marie's bookstore for tears and laughs. They decide to each make a list of twenty things that they have always wanted to do but never had the courage. Each widow brings their own personalty to the group.
Twenty Wishes is A Blossom Street Book. The author captures the characters but lacks in interest.

If you are a fan of Debbie Macomber this book will not disappoint!

Twenty Wishes is a cute story of several widows who come together on Valentine's Day. They decide that each will come up with Twenty Wishes. It's fun to see how each of the characters change and grow to help achieve their dreams. Each woman has her own unique story but they are all striving for the same thing. They all need to adjust to being widows and start lives that are their own. Again if you are looking for a "feel good" book for the beach or a lazy Sunday afternoon you will enjoy Twenty Wishes.

    Goal Setting

Twenty Wishes is one way of "Getting Ahead of the Game" and more fun than
boring goal setting. A gem of a book that at any age you can have wishes.
