Twice As Hot = TWICE AS AMAZING!!

Belle is a paranormal investigator and Rome a sexy-hot operative who we were first introduced to in Gena Showalter's Playing With Fire. They both work for the same group and they are back living the fabulous life with Belle planning their wedding. That is when she's not accidentally starting fires, tripping over scary through and desperately working on controlling her superpowers. But when Rome returns from his last mission with no memory of Belle, is the wedding off or is this a momentary pause in the action?

Then there is Rome's ex-wife the unscrupulous Lexis who is at her manipulative best using Rome's memory loss to try and lure him back and convince Rome that they belong together. Can Belle make Rome remember her, the passion and lust filled days and night and have him fall in love with her again? Rome is trying and something is pulling him toward Belle with such intensity that he knows memory loss or not there is nothing that will keep him away from her no matter how much he tries. But the twist in all this is not just Lexis but a strange, mysterious man who is fascinated by the memories of Belle he stole from Rome and is now determined to have Belle for himself.

What an amazing book! Total page turner that you will not be able to put down so make sure you have enough time to read non-stop. You have the paranormal super-couple of Rome and Belle, mystery in the background and passion winning out over all forces trying to hold it back. Be sure you look up Ms. Showalter's other series, The Lords of the Underworld with more uber-possessive, sexy alpha males than you can handle! Muy caliente!

    Heros vs. Villains

I bought this book as soon as it hit the shelves, in the hopes of purchasing the first book also but it was out of stock at that time and so months had passed until I decided that I can probably get through this without the first book... It worked. Belle, Rome, Tanner, Lexis, Cody, Sheridan and Co. have such solid characters that I never regret that I haven't read the first book yet plus the important details of the past was embedded in Twice as Hot so, my questions was answered. From how Belle got her powers? How did Rome and Belle met? Who was the villain? Who is responsible for all these experiments? (yes as far as I can tell only 2 of the characters are legit - born with their powers) What is OSSA? PSI? etc...

Twice As Hot starts with Belle talking to Sheridan about the wedding, Tanner's depression and her blinding love for Rome. The love for the man in question was everything that she describe and then more. I wasn't not sure that I will like Belle due to the infinite swooning and praise about her man. I could tell that she has a strong personality and I hate that she has become one of those women who forget who they are when they are in love but that all changed when Lexis (her fiance's ex wife, mother of her fiance's child, who also broke Tanner's heart) came knocking at the door to inform her that something has happened. Rome and Cody was injured but now out of harm's way. Upon hearing this news she rushed to their headquarters where she was faced with the greatest shock of her life, now with all the villains who came chasing her from Playing with Fire this one seems to be the most heart breaking of them all, Rome Master the love of her life does not remember who she is! All the memories of her was stolen by a supernatural scientific experiment known as Memory Man and what's worse was the b!+ch ex-wife is trying to take him back.

What would you do if you were placed on Belle's shoes? Man instead of having that awesome cat fight with Lexis, I would have probably torched her or freeze her. I like the whole premise of the story. The superheros vs. villain gives me the feel of the supernatural world as supposed to the comic hero type. I am very intrigue on the character of Dr. Roberts, I got to get book one. I love the new Belle she's stronger, more goal oriented and more independent as a woman and as an agent. The supporting characters are also key on the success of these book. Tanner is my favorite of them all. He is the perfect guy friend. Perverted, protective, funny and loving.

I have added this on my "favorite series shelf", this is a must read series. Love, action, drama, girl fight, comedy, and intense emotions while saving the world one scrim (supernatural criminal) at a time. After chapter one, I couldn't let sleep get in the way of finishing these book.

Fans will enjoy Gena Showalter's latest amusing chick lit superhero romance

Paranormal investigator, Belle Jamison is still learning her new job while planning her marriage to shapeshifter Rome Masters whom she met when she was Playing with Fire. However since the mad scientist spiked her latte she can control, well almost control, the four elements. Of course putting your wedding dress ablaze makes life a wee bit difficult, but Rome is there for her; now that he is not trying to neutralize her.

However, the real calamity and not just minor roach stressors, is when Memory Man erases from Rome's mind that he even met Belle, let alone fell in love with her. Instead the only woman Rome remembers is his nasty former wife Lexie. Although hurting, Belle, accompanied by her empathic partner Tanner, plans to kick some butts starting at the top of her list with Memory Man.

The latest Tales of an Extraordinary Girl (see Playing with Fire) returns Belle, still hesitant about using her new powers especially as she learns frustration and anger could lead to out of control reactions. She is particularly upset with what has happened to her fiancé and their relationship which is so out of control due to Memory Man and Lexie. She has to keep the collateral damage to an absolute minimum; superhero gigs are not easy. Fans will enjoy Gena Showalter's latest amusing chick lit superhero romance as Belle's constantly changing list sums up how she feels.

    Gena ROCKS!

Ok I was slow coming into Gena Showalter's world. It wasn't until I went to a book signing and she was sitting next to Kresley Cole and PC Cast that I actually gave her books more than a passing glance. I do have to say that I had passed her up soley based on the fact that her first series was alien based... not my thing. So when she was singing copies of Intertwined I picked one up. It was young adult and it was GREAT. After that I picked up Playing With Fire, the first in this series. The book was amazing. I loved the lead and her "special mocha". I loved the way the story played out and I love all of the characters in the books. I hate reviewing a second in a series because I hate spoilers but I will tell you this... wedding plans have been delayed.

    great sequel

I will read just about anything Gena Showalter writes. Because she is just soooo good. Everything she writes i just fall in love with. the characters, the story, the romance, the writing, just loooove it. and Twice as Hot was just as wonderful as all her other books. The story is a little bit heartbreaking...BUT then it makes up for it! I promise! it is delicious and the romance and attitude.. MMM! and I recommend it to everyone who loves a great paranormal romance series.

    Outstanding and original story!

I really enjoyed this second book in the Extrodinary Girl series. Ms. Showalter has created a terrific new series with a fun and hip young heroine, her sexy "cat man" boyfriend and interesting characters. Her characters are well developed and very original and I honestly hope she follows up with more installments in this new series.

I really recommend this book for a thrilling and romantic, sexy read. Lots of humor, cool characters and original story.

    Enjoy!!!
