Amateurish at best -- a definite waste of time
This book was a sad mash-up of derivative ideas, untenable conclusions, egregious straw-man arguments and just plain dumb ideas. For example, Hughes suggests that one of the hidden meanings of the name 'Babylon' was an intentional pun on the words 'babble on' -- as if anybody involved at the time (human or alien) spoke English. This is typical of his frequent attempts to pile on lots of little 'clues' that are supposed to add up to proof of alien influence in the distant past. // I've read one or two of the Sitchin books and, though they contain lots of outlandish ideas, they are far more coherent than this book. // If you really, really insist on reading this author, then I would suggest that you wait until his follow-on book is published in March 2007 where, according to the blurb in the back, he totally eliminates one of the main concepts in this book. But I certainly won't be wasting my time with it.
