Bertrice Small's best book yet!
I have read all of the O'Malley saga, and am half-way into the Glenkirk Chronicles, and I found this book recently at B&N. It is one of her best novels ever. It goes in a very different direction than the O'Malley books, but is every bit as erotic. A must-read for Skye O'Malley fans!! Miranda has the same spirit as Skye, and you'll absolutely love this book.

A reviewer
Miranda and Jared should have never slept with other people, 'one downfall of all of Ms. Small's stories--inevitable infidelity', because the way he loved her and the way she responded was lovely. Then they get torn apart to make way for other, less interesting experiences than eachother...I was disappointed that they did not get more time to be happy together in the beginning, but he always loved her no matter what, which made this, my first Bertrice Small read, a relatively fascinating one overall.

Not her best
I've been a huge Bertrice Small fan for some time now and this book was a bit of a disappointment to me. I liked Miranda but I did not like Jared. Towards the end when he becomes this huge womanizer you almost hate him. I know I did. Personally I would have liked to have seen something more happen between Miranda and Prince Mirza. He was so honest in his love for her, and I really liked him from the first time they met in St. petersburg! Overall, this book was not my favorite but i am glad I read it.

Absolutely wonderful!
For those who have enjoyed other books by Mrs. Small, you will definately love this one. She does it again by introducing outstanding characters. Miranda, the wild passionate and devoted lover is the greatest character I have ever seen. This book trully demonstrates what it was like for a young girl growing up in the early 1800's. A must read!
