fabulous wacky fantasy
Betsy, Queen of the vampires, detests everything about her new life except the midnight sales. The worst part of being an undead is she desires the king her alleged spouse Eric Sinclair, but on the other hand wants nothing to do with him or his minion. Her dad arrives to inform Betsy that she is not to come to her evil stepmother¿s baby shower, which is why the event is being held during the day; Sinclair offers to go in her place. Her flustered dad lets slip that his spouse had a child when Betsy was thirteen and her father was still married to her biological mother. Apparently, the child is her stepsister. --- They visit step-mom and Eric hypnotizes her into revealing a little more information about Betsy¿s half-sister starting with abandoning the infant on the floor of a hospital lobby. As Betsy investigates with the unwanted help of Eric, her gay roommate and two other vampires, they begin to find a devilish trail towards the long lost half blood relative.--- The third ¿Un¿ and ¿Un¿ contains all the wacky fun from the previous two tales (see UNDEAD AND UNWED. and UNDEAD AND UNEMPLOYED), but retains a brisk sparkle due to the delightful amateur sleuth investigation. Betsy is her usual irreverent self still wondering how she became queen and why she cannot escape Eric¿s lure though a late shoe sale still solaces the soul (that is if she has one). MaryJanice Davidson is at her humorous biting best with this devilish tale of our favorite vampiress since Vampirella started seeking a blood relation.--- Harriet Klausner

Betsy Taylor series
Another fun and funny book as good as the first two. As I said if you are looking for deep meaningful reading this ain't it. This is purely fun. A great beach book. Fun and funny. I highly recommend it.

Love the Undead Series!
I love the Undead series, and none of them disappoint. The same goes for book #3 "Undead and Unappreciated". Now, although this book is a fun, light read chick lit, it doesnt have as much going on as the first two books. Betsy is basically having issues with Sinclair, but thats almost as far as it goes. She DOES however find out that she has a sister who is "satans spawn" but for this book, the get along well. So im very interested to see what happens in the next few books.

Anyway, its a fun chick lit read, and I am very much into the Betsy Taylor series. It easy to read and goes pretty quickly, but you find yourself engrossed in it all.
Once again, highly recommended! -

BE AWARE
These are a fast and fun read but be aware that in book 9 in the last 2 pages she changes everything she laid out in the previous 8 books about the characters and the history about them So have fun with this series just be aware that with the authors plot twist the first 8 books become irrelevant she betrays everything about the characters that she laid out in the first 8 books. So enjoy but be aware

Mindless Good Fun ...
The Betsy Taylor series of books are mindless good fun; chick lit at their finest. Not as engaging as the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, but worth a read if you are looking for a quick, fun read.

Betsy Taylor is less of a "regional character" than Sookie. Though Betsy lives in the midwest, she could live anywhere, whereas Sookie is a daughter of the south through and through.
Did I say Betsy has a thing for shoes? -

Another Hysterical Installment
I adore Betsy's vapid conversation, her show fetish, and her adoring consort Sinclair. When I need a laugh, MJD is always a writer who can brighten my day. It's great to see the series continuing with new twists and intrigues to keep the vampire queen busy.

Two Warnings: Not for Kids or Teens; Read Book One First!
If you haven't read book one of this series, don't read this book until you do. The books must be read sequentially. Some writers of book series give you enough background information to keep up even if you're reading the books out of order. Davidson does not. She picks up where she left off and moves on. Characters and events that happend in a previous book suddenly are in this story and you have no idea who they are or why they're involved. Unfortunately I picked this book up and started reading, not realizing it was part of a series. I was mostly lost all the way through. Even with this problem, the book is fun. Warning: Thsi book is definitely nor for children or prbably even teens. Davidson can get downright graffic in her sexual descriptions.

I loved this one
This book is the third in the "undead series" and far more the best. There are a lot of twist and turns that make Betsy Taylor take a closer look at her attitude of being Queen and her relationship with Sinclair. I was waiting for this change to take place. This book is definately a must have.

Jennifer Wardrip - Personal Read
Elizabeth "Betsy" Taylor, Queen of the Vampires, is having yet another bad day. Her stepmother, The Ant, is pregnant with her half-sibling, and still as unlikeable as always. Her dad, stopping by to encourage her not to make an appearance at the baby shower, lets it slip that Betsy has another half-sibling that was given up years ago. Determined to find out who this brother or sister is, Betsy goes on a reading binge, locking herself in the library with her copy of The Book of the Dead.

Totally forgetting that too much vampire book in one sitting can make you insane, Betsy reads until common sense is pushed by the wayside. She attacks her best friend, Jessica, verbally harangues her friend Marc, tells off Tina, the vampire king's right-hand-lady, and jumps Sinclair's bones.

To make matters worse, Betsy discovers that her long-lost half-sister, Laura, is more than just the adopted daughter of a minister and his wife--she's also the daughter of the Devil, who took over The Ant's body while she was pregnant.

Talk about a bad week! The latest installment of the life and times of Betsy is as funny as ever, filled with MaryJanice Davidson's one blend of sarcastic wit. I can't wait for the release of UNDEAD AND UNRETURNABLE, to pick up Betsy's life where this book left off.

Great Read !!
I am a BIG fan of MJD's Undead series. I was overly excitied to start the book. I read it in 2 days only because I was required to put it down every now and then. I must say I was a little upset with how the book left off. But the book over all was enjoyable. I am currently reading her next one. Undead and Unreturnable. :) Looking good so far..

Wow. . . what happened MJD?
I would recommend to all who love Mary Janice Davidson that they wait until this book comes out in paperback. I don't know what her editors were thinking but this book was super short, with overly large font and IN HARD BACK! Betsy was still funny but the story line just ,sort of, fell flat. I could read the first two books in this series over and over again. But I think that I will be waiting for Undead and Unreturnable(#4 book in the series) to come out in paperback before I purchase it.

Dropped the ball
Amusing but nowhere near the quality of the first two books. Much to short to be offered in hardback. The story is choppy and seems almost to be random thoughts stuck together with no continuity, as though Ms. Davidson could not decide where she wanted to go with Betsy. She would start a story line and then suddenly reverse it. I almost get the feeling she is tired of writing this series. Wrap this one up MJD, and move on.
