Star Swirl and the Earth Pony Bash Chapter 1

Star Swirl levitated her pack onto her back. Although an earth pony, "Starry" had recently learned to use magic without a horn.
"Need any help packing?" Tropical Storm asked, swooping down from the sky.
"No, but thanks anyway, Tropical Storm," Starry replied. She was preparing to go to Ponyville for thefirst ever Earth Pony Bash. Later there would be Unicorn and Pegasus Bashes, but Earth ponies were going first. Lucky she hadn't changed species to pursue her magic training!
"Comet Tail will be seeing you off at the station," Tropical Storm continued. "Sorry I can't be there. I promised my friend Stormwalker I'd help her up in Cloudsdale."
"It's okay," Starry smiled. "Golden Delicous has obligations with Donut Joe as well." Golden D helped the donut baker out most days. She had met Comet Tail ad Star Swirl pouring their cocoa.
"Bye Tropical!" Starry called. "I'll see you in a few days!" Tropical Storm waved as she flew away. Starry turned and took a deep breath. She had been waiting for a long time, but now she would do it- attempt to teleport herself. Starry closed her eyes and pictured the train station. She slowly moved her hooves and felt the magic coursing through her body. Starry was sudenly surronded by a green light. When it cleared, she found herself standing at the station. Several bystanders gasped, aware she had no horn.
"Neat trick," Comet Tail comented, coming up to her. "The train's about to leave, Starry. Ready?"
"Yup. I paid my ticket in advance yesterday," Starry replied. The train horn sounded, and Starry followed the passengers on.
"Bye!" She called, waving out a window. Comet Tail waved back.
"Tell us all about it!" He called. "Bye!"
A short while later, Star Swirl was in Ponville. She stepped out into the bright cheerful sunshine. Birds twittered as she trotted into town. Two fillies rushed by her, scrambling to catch up with their Earth pony friend.
"I hope you have lots of fun!" She heard the brown-orange pegasus say.
"Yeah, tell us all about it!" Added the white unicorn filly. Star Swirl smiled and headed in the direction of a sign two earth ponies were hammering up. The cream one smiled and waved, her navy and pink curls bouncing in the breeze. Star Swirl waved back. She passed under the sign, which read PONYVILLE AND CANTRLOT EARTH PONY BASH.
"I'm Sweetie Drops, but you can call me Bon Bon," the cream one called. "The makeshift hotel is down the lane. Festivities start at sundown!"
"Thanks!" Star Swirl called back. She trotted up to the little hotel.
