A new look at a little known period of US history
This works brings forth a difficult period of the history of the United States, a newly created nation led by James Madison the real intellect behind the creation of the federal system the nation has today. Altough forced by circumstance to depart many Jeffersonian ideal (realpolitik) he was the first president to be authorized powers of war by congress. This also shows how war heroes become presidential contenders in the future, such was the case of Andrew Jackson. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. An amenable read for anybody willing to spend some time in the immediate aftermath of the periods of Washington, Adams and Jefferson that lead to still more Virginians in power and somehow unwillingly put the seeds of the politics that lead to the civil war.
