This is still my favorite Tarot Deck

I've used various tarot cards over the years [since 1981], but this is still my favorite. The colors are somewhat more 'pastel' than the Rider-Waite cards. The symbols appear the same, but the colors are more to my liking. From my perspective, the colors of the Universal Waite Deck emanate a more natural aura. But then again, each to their own. Some Tarot readers might want something different [that's why you need to find and use cards that are best suited to your own particular energies/auras] -- but, bottomline, I like the colors best in these particular cards. Remember, it's not just the numbers or suits that are important in Tarot. For me, the colorful symbols are most important. They often tell a clear story -- in pictures -- all by themselves. I've also used other decks [i.e., The Aquarian Deck, The Witches Deck, etc.] but the Universal Waite Tarot Deck is still the best for me.

    My favorite deck

I'd used the standard Waite-Rider deck for years, finally in the Universal the colors are right! Mary Hanson-Roberts has brought an artist's sensibility to the previously crude technology the older decks were produced with. If you like the Waite decks, this one will be your standard.

It's not all it's hyped up to be

This was my first deck and I used it on and off for about a year. I didn't know that there were so many others out there so I got this with the book as a set. It was okay but I didn't learn much with it. This deck doesn't really provoke many images in my mind and I haven't used it in a reading for a long time.
