    Give this a miss

Unleash the Night is another miss for me in the Dark-Hunter series. Neither Wren nor Maggie's feelings for each other seem believable at the start of the book. Was it love at first sight ? It didn't feel that way to me. Maggie seems more repulsed by Wren when they first met and only seems to be attracted to him after he saves her. Wren certainly was attracted to Maggie from the first but I couldn't fathom any reason for it at their first meeting. Over time when each proofs their acceptance and devotion to the other, but not before.

Then, there's the way Wren and Maggie first evades everyone when Wren first escapes from his hunters and collapse at Maggie's place. The hunt seems to begin conveniently only when Wren wakes up from his coma and not before. How in the world could Maggie have kept him hidden until then against magical creatures of the night ?

The book only starts to get interesting when other characters like Savitar and the Kattalakis brothers show up. While none of the Kattalakis siblings alone are a favorite of mine, I do enjoy their brotherly banter. Its both funny and sweet the way they play off each other.

I'd suggest giving this one a miss since it doesn't even affect any of the goings on in the Dark-Hunter world.

    Not Her Best

I liked her other shape shifter tales but not this one. She spent at least two books making the bears and Sanctury seem great and then tore it all down. I didn't find it believable that Wren's girlfriend could get shape shifter powers one day and be kicking everyones butt the next. I loved Vane and Bride but I just couldn't get into this one. I'm glad I checked it out at the Library and didn't buy it. I'll definitely keep reading her books and hope the next one is better.

Looked Forward to this book, but was sorely disappointed.

Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors. I really looked forward to this book and I bugged my bookseller until it came out. I took about a month to read this one. Whereas it normally would have only took at the most a day. I had to make myself finish it. I thought that there could more developement in the storyline. Some of the secondary characters that I liked in her other books were not likeable here. This is the third book almost in a row that I haven't enjoy as much as her earlier work. To give the benefit of the doubt to the author. Maybe this has something to do with the way her publisher is editing her books.

    Interesting Characters

I liked the plot and characters, in fact I like all of Kenyon's books, have read them all, but this one is kind of corny. The dialogue is really poor. It's almost like it was written by someone else, or just rushed through. I finished the book because of the Author. I was very disappointed.
