    Wonderful!

This is one of the best Christian series I have ever read. I was so impressed with the dedication to the Biblical story but also with some of the poetic license she took to fill in the gaps. This whole series really helped me see the women in the line of Christ as much more human. I was able to relate to each of them in a different way. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Unshaken: Ruth (Lineage of Grace #3)
    Francine Rivers

Book Summary: A beautiful retelling of the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. Ruth gave up everything, expected nothing, and God honored her. Readers will be encouraged by the truth that God will faithfully provide for His children even when all hope seems lost.

Review: My favorite of the series. It is a magnificent retelling of the story of Ruth & Boaz. Ms. Rivers does a reverent writing of this story with details that are fiction but believable. She honors the scriptures but set up this retelling with scripture and historic details that go together beautifully. I loved the entire series but this novella was my favorite.

    A great series!

This is a great series- you will love the quick, fun, entertaining read! Ruth's husband dies and Ruth remains loyal to her mother-in-law, standing by her side and going home to Bethlehem with her. They have to beg for food and Ruth works hard in a field so that they are able to eat. Boaz, the land owner, notices her. She finally asks to marry him to secure her life. This was a great book. It is amazing that she turned from her rich family to follow God- how inspiring!

    ...

One of my favorite bible stories was realized in this book, Unshaken. Rivers expanded upon the characters of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz, and delivered a heart-warming, but also uplifting book. The fact that this is a true story, and that Rivers felt able to add to it, made for a truly inspiring read. One of her best, this novella should not be missed by any of her fans, and/or fans of the biblical story.

A sweet retelling of the Biblical story

This story was excellent! I loved how loving and gentle Ruth was. Rahab's pushy and mean behavior in the previous book ('Unashamed') disappointed me, but 'Unshaken' was a great story right from the beginning! Ruth was just faithful, loyal, and kind, even under the hard circumstances she was in. And Boaz? Wow! I loved the way he was so generous and giving. In a lot of ways, this book encouraged me, and it's helped me in a lot of ways in my Christian walk. If you have not picked up a copy, then you should get one TODAY!! :-)

    Inspiring!

I have read four of the five novellas. Each one was wonderful. My Spirit was truly encouraged and uplifted after each one. Francine Rivers does a wonderful job of bringing the women of the bible to life for the women of today. The story telling made it hard to put down and i couldn't wait to read the next one. I only wish there were more.

    Great Bible Story

This book is a great story. I like the Bible story, but this book gives more personality and depth to the characters. The studies at the end of the book are great, too. I look forward to reading the other stories in this series.
