Recommended - additional ammunition for arguments for changes in Federal budget

Ralph Nader is not new to the political hot potatoes as evidenced by his past printings and documented press statements. And the need for a closer review and audit of Federal budgets is not really new news. However, he has shed some light on some interesting attempts, on the QT, by several political and apolitical groups to facilitate the control of the Federal budget with emphasis on the run-away Dept of Defense budget. That part of the process has been the Sacred Cow that has bitten anyone and everyone who even alludes to looking at controlling the $800 billion Sacred Cow. Reminds me of Jimmy Stewart's movie, "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington." You want to think that you can control the inflationary, racket-laden Dept of Defense budget, but it's like trying to stop a runaway freight train with a pencil - not going to happen. His proposals for non-partisan cooperative partnerships in stopping this freight train may have some merit. It appears as though, at this point in time, both sides of the "aisle" recognize the need to do something, lest the country implode on a massive tumultuous scale based on the current economic Congressional miscalculations. Interesting ideas - not it's time for someone to step up to the political plate and play ball.
