(This is a short story/novella. This review is not based on story length but story content as length has very little to do with how much I enjoy a book.)

Years aboard a ship haven't prepared Will Wyatt for what he discovers as he hides out in the Highlands of Scotland: a dark haired Highland lass with blue-green eyes, creamy white skin, and the most kissable lips he'd ever seen. He trades a kiss for a day's worth of work helping build a house for orphans, but ends up giving her more than a kiss.

Jonet Montgomery doesn't know what to make of the pirate she kissed. He's a devil, alright, from his dark hair to blue eyes, roguish smile and wicked body. The kiss they shared was more than a kiss, but she's been hurt by her late-husband and she won't be made a fool by another man who can't keep himself tucked in.

But Will's after more than one night of pleasure with Jonet. It's obvious there's more to her than meets the eye, and he'll do everything he can to ensure she understands he's not like her late-husband.

There's magic in the Highlands, not just lightning being called down or people being healed with just a touch. The magic between Will and Jonet is more primal, more base, and so much more enticing than all the other magic combined. Why? Because Will accomplishes what no one else in Druim can: he heals Jonet's heart with his love, his touch, and his loyalty.

That was incredible to watch because it meant so much to Jonet to know that Will was hers and only hers. And Will... Well, the natural-born seaman who didn't believe he'd find a place on land found a home and a woman to love.

    Excellent

This was an excellent adventure with Jonet and Will, plus all the other favorite highlanders and a pirate or two. I loved the previous stories for this series and this book did not disappoint either.

Jonet is a highland lass who had her self confidence shattered by her first husband. She meets Will a self assured sea pirate who has the ladies falling all over him.

Jonet finds more to Will than the eye can see and finds herself falling in love with him, but she struggles to forget the past to move on to the future. Can Will give up the sea, the one thing he has ever known.

This is a great book. The author does a great job making the characters real and you feel for their struggles.

This novella is book 2.5 in the Highland Hearts series.

Will Wyatt, a known pirate, is hanging out in Scotland with his sister until there is no longer a bounty on his head. Trying to find his way in this new place, he never expects to meet a woman like Jonet Montgomery. He is instantly smitten after a stolen kiss.

Jonet Montgomery has been looking for her knight in shining armor and never thought he would come in the form of a pirate. Having been wed to a cheating husband, she does not want to get hurt again. But even with all the warnings from others about Will's reputation, she just can't seem to stay away from him.

When the highland clan must seek shelter with a neighboring clan, Will leads Jonet on a wild adventure. Can she keep herself from getting hurt again or will she let her past haunt her forever?

Having read the other stories in the Highland Hearts series, this story took a different turn. The other stories focused on women that had healing powers and the threats that those powers came with. Although the story included those women as supporting characters, that theme didn't play as big of a part of this story as it did the others. Both the H/H in this story were featured in previous stories and it was nice to see them get their HEA. They have each been hurt earlier in their lives, so they needed to find someone who understood that hurt to be able to really connect. This was a great novella which visited favorites from the previous novels and hints as to what is to come in the next book.

I can't wait for the next book in the series, Crimson Heart, which will feature Searc Munro.

Thanks go to Entangled Publishing via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

A short and sweet and absolutely lovely read, Untamed Hearts was a wonderful historical romance novella. I loved this book! It was a delightfully romantic, truly enjoyable romance.

Both Jonet and Will were lovely characters. Jonet was a strong-willed, likable character. Because of her life with her first husband, she was very self-conscious, but she was also determined not to let all that unpleasantness keep her from being happy. Will was adorable. He was so charming and sweet and impossible not to love. I absolutely adored him.

The romance was both sweet and spicy. Jonet and Will were so lovely together. I really liked the fact that they didn't try to deny their feelings, though they weren't sure how to act on them. And, the chemistry between them was very hot. Tons of steaminess with these two. I thought they were a perfect couple.

The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. This book managed to pack a lot for a novella, which I really liked. All the characters still felt deep and the story still manged to fully engage me. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was wonderful.

Untamed Hearts was a fantastic historical romance read. I really loved this wonderful book. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll definitely want to read.
