I have always enjoyed Fern Michaels so I was looking forward to this book. From the start I felt as if I was reading a teen romance. The 35 year old hero acted more like a 16 year old than an adult man. He yelled at his dad, scampered, got drunk with his AUNT, and had several grade school arguments with the heroine. Trinity is mean to the old couple that rescued her, leaves without a backward glance and never earns my sympathy or admiration. I was confused by the relationship Trinity had with her 2nd set of adoptive parents. There are two pages of introductory inner monologue for the elderly couple that make them seem caring and loving which is completely undermined by further dialogue. If the old guy has a ton of money why is he thinking he hates to tell his wife the bakery has to close? If the old lady only had mild arthritis why is she thinking about the pain and feeling useless? It just does not track. This book was really disappointing as no one was an adult with adult feelings. And why did Trinity have an identity crisis? She was 15 when she ran away not abandoned as a baby. Great story line with a ton of possibilities, unfortunately, none of them came to fruition. No romance whatsoever as the hero and heroine spent more time arguing then forming a relationship. At the end of the day I liked the cruel rich lady best of all which says a lot!

    Up Close and Personal

It has been a few weeks since I read this book. It was simple and easy to read. It's good for relaxation-not enough suspense to put one on the edge of the seat. It was just okay for me.
