    Banishing the Creepy-Crawly Gene

Since I have never been a huge fan of critters with more than four legs and have not wanted to pass this aversion on to my children, this was the perfect book to dispel some fears. My 3 year old and 6 year old LOVED this book, despite their not-so-fondness of spiders. The story kept them interested, the illustrations were wonderful and they soaked up a lot of good scientific facts without even realizing it. I can't say spiders will replace dogs, cats and bunnies, but at least the girls don't start screaming and calling for death when they see the once-loathed arachnids! Curiosity has replaced terror, what an accomplishment.

Two-year-old is enthralled with this book!

My two-year-old granddaughter loves "Up, Up, and Away"! I cannot read it to her enough times--now she's counting spider legs, says "arachnid" and loves the tiny spiders spilling out of the egg sack into the big world.
Beautifully written and illustrated, clear and the exciting--up close and intimate view of a garden spider's life cycle. Kids 2 to about 8 will love this book! (I love it!)
