I just turned 13 two weeks ago and for my age Anne Rice's books are considered "Adult Books" When I was smaller I never understood why my father raved about the vampire chronicles so much. I thought is was funny of him to do so and because I had never seen him actually read before. I remember when I was about six I seen Interview With The Vampire and I loved it. I became obsessed with the whole idea of the undead and because Brad Pitt made such an awsome vampire. About two months ago I was watching the movie and I kept thinking to myself I wonder how the author describe such sences. The next thing I knew I was walking into a book store and I picked it up. Of course my Aunt said she would not buy it for me because she thought I was too young. I didn't care I bought it anyway. It's a great book and so are the others. I suggest them to anyone who likes the movies. Hehe. It's a whole different thrill when you read them.

Publishers flubbed this one up

Considering i paid for this book, and the small yet noticable grammer errors (which i can look past) well kinda just jacks me up that i cant finish the book properly. 5 stars to the story, 2 stars to who did the publishing.

I love vampire period novels, perhaps more than the next person,

I love vampire period novels, perhaps more than the next person, so I couldn't wait to read the most talked about Chronicles ever. However, I must say that while it is mostly well written (several grammatical errors, who doesn't have some?), it wastes too much time focusing on repetitious explaining that seems really unnecessary. I wound up forcing myself to keep reading and get through it (much like the Jacob portions of Twilight, am I right?). While it did have some redeeming parts, there were not enough to make this series enjoyable or recommendable. I love the lore parts but that's about all there is to love. I'm definitely disappointed in it but I won't write Anne off completely.
