Vivacious Vampire Vacation

I give this book 4 bats with tiaras out of 5 bats because it was a great read and always leaves you wanting more.

This little gem of a story has been a great find and read. I am one of those people that usually if a book doesn't interest me by the end of the first chapter, it is doomed to have to work the rest of the book to hold my interest. Vampire Vacation on the other hand had my attention by the end of the little glossary of people in the front of the book. it makes you look twice when the description for one of the people is "the dead guy in the first chapter."

I would have to say that Jonathan is my favorite character. Gotta love the sexy werewolf with a heart of gold and a sense of humor that would make Loki proud. Plus he makes a hell of an exit, ;)

This book is a nice mix of mystery and a new look at a situation with vamps and weres. There's also a glimpse into how seethes and other parts of vampire lives in this world work.

If you are looking for a good read mixing mystery, paranormal, and erotica this is the book you should find.

I can't wait for the next one and a big part of me is hoping for a prequel to get all the details of Vivi's back story.

Needs less sex and more plot. Adults only warning should apply.

This is an erotic, sexually explicit vampire novel, which sadly had a great premise with the creation of a vampire vacation resort. If the author had spent as much time creating a plot as she did erotic sex scenes she could have had a heroine to rival Kim Harrison's Rachel or Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse. Her heroine had the strength for it. It was painful to see such a great concept lost. I'm glad it was only 99 cents. Hopefully, the author will take her idea and rework it.

This is a Vampire version of Fantasy Island where Vampires and their mates or blood donors go to Dria and Rafe's inn/hotel and fulfill their most erotic fantasies with a little or a lot of prodding from the owners.

This is one of those books that's just pure entertainment. The sex is just oozing from the digital covers and it's certainly erotic. But outside the sex, there's no character development and the intended conflict felt secondary compared to the lustful adventures of the guests and the owners.

Here's the thing: If you're looking for an easy read that doesn't require much thinking then go ahead and pick this book up. You'll LOVE it. But if you want something that will tickle your grey matter, I strongly discourage you from buying this as you'll just end up disappointed.

    more from this reviewer

I first saw Vampire Vacation on another blog that was reviewing

I first saw Vampire Vacation on another blog that was reviewing it and it sounds fun and a fun cover. Then I saw it again as free Nook read from Barnes and Noble and decided to get it. After seeing getting a notice from Bewitching Book Tours that they were hosting a tour for the author I decided to sign up and finally read it. I was glad I did.

The concept of a Vampire Inn where vampires can get away and vacation in Alaska is something new. VV has some much going on, there is a touch of erotica with some pretty hot sex scenes between Viv and Rafe. As well as some teasing scenes with some of the other characters. Then you have the paranormal aspect and a mystery to be solved.

I really enjoyed reading VV by Ellisson but I can't quite give it 4 stars because I just felt like something was missing but I can't put my finger on it. But I cannot wait to start book 2, The Hunt. Maybe I'll find what was missing in book 1.

If you are in the mood for a fun and sexy mystery with vampires and a hot werewolf give Vampire Vacation to try.

    Slow start but satisfying conclusion

Viv is an ancient vampire enforcer who has "retired" to run a lodge for the supernatural in Alaska with her handsome human mate. As the book began, I wondered why the glossary of characters at the beginning. About 3/4ths through the book, it became clear that this book was very character cluttered. The concept was interesting but the book got bogged down in Viv's sex life and trying to manipulate the sexual adventures of her guests through her super-talent of projecting her ideas onto others. It took sometime to realize that the murder mystery at the start was going to actually figure into what turned out to be a plot. I may try the next book to see if this is a writing style or just a fluke.

    Maybe verdicts still out

I read it all the way through entertaining in parts.... Like the use of vampires not the regular blood sucking kill them all theme.. I think we didn't need all the sexual stuff... I could have been a great book.. I will read the next... The hunt... Will see

    Enjoyed and was entertained but

Enjoyed the story and thought the characters were very engaging. The graphic sex scenes were too much and detracted from the story developement.
