15 Years Too Late
I felt that this book was written 15 years ago and then given a 21st century title. Or the book was written with a c level person in their sixties in mind who doesn't know anything about computers and IT. Terminology and content seem off. Two samples: The book painstakingly describes the layers of the "digital pluming": Business Intelligence Layer, Application Layer, Database Layer, Hardware Layer, and Communication Layer. I've seen this in textbooks but as a manager I don't care about this on a detail level. The more I kept on reading about the term digital plumbing, the more I thought about the internet being a series of tubes. In the chapter "Finding the leaks in your digital plumbing" Digital Plumbing Leaks are explained with the following words: "Technological weaknesses in your company that, although fixable, result in losses of some kind." There is nothing to add.
