Perdita lives her life at the bottom of the social ladder, but she doesnt really mind because she actually has great company from her best friend and cousin. They all face bullying daily from the resident mean girl Dawn, but they tend to take it in stride.

Having had strange dreams of a boy with brown eyes that draw her in for some time now, she is shocked to see a new kid at school with those same eyes. Can it be the same guy as her dreams?

Soon Perdy makes friends with Amelia, the new guys younger sister. She finds herself standing up for herself and others. If only she could figure out what the deal is with Nathan? Sometimes she feels like their relationship goes deeper, but other times its as if they dont even know each other.

This story does not lack in drama, not only does Perdy have to deal with the jealousies of Dawn, but somehow life really gets turned upside down when her own best friend seems to turn against her.

I was quite frustrated with Nathan for most of this book. I understand his motives, but it didn't seem believable enough for some reason.

I also felt the ending of this book was a little forced. I understand that there was a climax, but I really didn't feel there was any type of resolution.

Overall it was a nice storyline and the writing was well executed. Characters were all well developed as well.

    Like it

Not much for the young adult books but got started and couldn't put it down. I will be reading the rest of the series and I think both my 11 @ 16 year old girls will like one of the better free reads

    Cool

It was good although i wish her name wasnt perdy. The plot was kinda boring and the climax wasnt very exciting. But it was still good.

    A terrific, fast-paced, intriguing read

I read this book in a few hours. It moved at a very rapid pace and lacked nothing in the way of classic high school drama. There was always some event happening between the arch nemesis of the story that kept it going, as well as crazy discoveries.
On more than one occasion I wanted very badly to teleport into the book to meet the characters or vice versa so I could punch them in the face. Yeah, the drama, the deceit, the angst got that bad that I wanted to resort to violence. And I am not a violent person, I assure you.
I think that just made the book all the more better. The characters were developed very well, especially the annoying ones. Basically both good and evil were deeper than shallow swim.
During the last hundred pages I admit to becoming rather annoyed at Mr.Brown Eyed Hottie AKA Nathan because... well, this may come as a shocker... but because of his typical teenage boy behavior. Crazy, right? A teenage boy character in a teenage novel acting like an ordinary teenage boy. What I am trying to say is he wasn't exactly suave all the time.
Just read the book and you'll understand. But I guess that is to be expected. I just feel like he was too indecisive and in between during most of the book. Not trusting his gut a lotta the time, but at the end I think that all changed and he was more sure of himself.
All in all it was a terrific book and I would certainly recommend this book to a friend. But please, don't resort to violence! Seriously. I would also read "Stake You" by the same author.

    Solid 4

Great, fun, intense series. I dont read a lot of YA books, but I got the first book for free and it grabbed me enough to want to read the rest. It has intimacy without being a romance, and it is jam packed with tension amd action. A pretty fresh look and original thought process for my beloved were's :)
