wonderful resource for studying the Vikings
This is one of the "DK Eyewitness Books." When our younger son Jeremy was in grade 5, he was studying world history that year, and we supplemented the "textbook" (Investigating World History, which had been given to us by friends in Dayton, OH, and which we used with Mark earlier) with various nonfiction books about ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and now this one about the Vikings. With lavish full color photographs of people dressed in Viking attire, as well as Viking ships, houses, and other artifacts, this book helps us to visualize what the Vikings and their lives were really like. There are some 137 other "DK Eyewitness Books" listed. While Dorling Kindersley books are generally very good, highly recommended for visual appeal, and used by many homeschoolers in their curriculum, and we found nothing objectionable in this book, it is good to keep in mind that DK is not necessarily a "Christian" publishing company. In fact, one of the other titles listed is Evolution and another one entitled Prehistoric Life shows an "ape-man" on the cover. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
