Ancient Roots in the Family Tree
I am enjoying Cavill's book because it is accurate and informative and paints a true picture of the dark ages and how the Church steadfastly kept the faith. I recommend Zonderan Press because of its high-quality books and DVD's and videos. My name is Judith Margaret Bracegirdle Warner and the name Bracegirdle pre-dates the Battle of Hastings in 1066. My paternal grandfather's first name was Alfred and he insisted on naming his children to reflect his rich English heritage. I noticed a pictorial King Alfred on another book similar to Cavill's and I am proud that there is so much interest in this subject. The name Bracegirdle was featured in the movie 'Lord of the Rings' and I recommend the trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien to anyone interested in the light-darkness battles of early English history. My life has been changed for much the better. I went to school and high school thinking it was just an old funny name and in the last few years I have discovered wonderful connections that have granted the name considerable significance. I am on my way to North Carolina where my father's sister lives to document her memories and connections. Thank for for Paul Cavill's inspiration -- I will continue my odyssey. I am a member of the Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas and visitors should see St. Martin's - it is awesome.
