    Colorful & engrossing infographic collection

Well worth browsing, this is the uber-coffee table book. Entertaining as a casual read, it also holds up to deeper perusal. These "infographics" combine modern graphical design with the latest statistics, culture, and sciences (both hard and soft). However, the author emphasizes the "relationship between facts, the context, the connections that make information meaningful" and in so doing, breathes life into the pages.

David McCandless has dived deep into a notably eclectic set of topics: Pop, Web, Thought, Food, Power, Life, Nature, Science, Health, Film, Media, and Music. It is pretty much guaranteed any Barnes & Noble reader will be intrigued by several of these topics and their respective infographics.

In lieue of discussing individual pages, I direct you to his often-updated website: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/

If you like what you see there, grab this book. David M's website is bonus content, since it goes above and beyond the book's contents.

Some reviewers may note that there are a handful of typographical/ coloration errors in the middle of the book. This is true, but was not a deal-breaker for me as they comprise much less than 1% of the book's total content. Some critics are myopic in their nitpicking. I've already purchased this book once as a gift, and may do so again.

    Highly recommended.

Pretty hard to rate & review the book when we have not received this book yet. So when is this book I ordered before Christmas going to be shipped.

    Same as headline review.

    Very creative and visually powerful

This makes a great coffeetable material for general, easy viewing. Definitely interesting and is more like a trivia book-very well done. Best presentation of data.

Visually innovative, it's a "can't put it down" collection

If you are a data geek, enjoy trivial data, and are visual in learning style,(or an auditory learner), this book is a "must buy". Packed with information on a very wide variety of topics of high interest, I bought it for my gifted grandson, and ended up not being able to put it down myself. Presented graphically, interesting information about meaningful topics such as religions of the world can be visually assimilated quickly. The graphic design of each presentation is in and of itself a masterpiece of artistic talent.
