Vocabulary Cartoons Merely Sensational !
I am very impressed with the Buchers': Max,Bryan and Sam paperback Vocabulary
Cartoons. It is a valuable learning tool. I wish I had this book when I was in school!
However, I have it now. The creators probably were not even born back then. Let us
not digress. I might take exception to the concept that this book is for "kids." But
then aren't we all. The words are not necessarily at the elementary level. There are little
quiz-like exercises at the end of each section providing an opportunity for the "user" to
review the material covered in each one. I would recommend it to teacher, student and
just plain lay person. It also appears that it would be helpful to stroke victims with
aphasia. The cartoons are really cute which further enhances the learning or review process. The Buchers have something special here! I hope they continue their mission i.e. bringing the English language to one and all. Thank you, gentlemen!1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Provides fun way for kids to learn new words
My son is 9 years old and he can't put the book down. The book provides an easy and effective way to learn new vocabulary.I got him this book while my high schooler was working on Vocabulary cartoons SAT which is very similar in structure but uses SAT words. Highly recommend.

Engaging way to increase vocabulary in the classroom
This is a funny engaging book that helps the students "stick" the words in their brains. The students can see the relevance of the words throughout the day in other classwork. This really helps the students relate to the words to better understand them. Finally, the cartoons really spark some good classroom conversations. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fresh way to improve their students' vocabulary.

Excellent!
I highly recommend this book. I used it with my fourth grade students this year and it was amazing how many words they learned! The cartoons are funny and effective, and my students were highly motivated to learn the words.

The best way to memorize words :]
Memorizing words the old school style is not very productive. This book makes memorization a snap. They work on a concept of visual memorization and a little description. Visuals and descriptions are much easier to memorize than the actual meaning. For example, Abut has a picture of butts linked together. Its commentary and very effective.

IT ROCKS!!!
I used this book last year. I don't have all the words memorized. This book was fun, every day I looked forward to seeing the new cartoons. I kept the book so I could read it again and again. How would I know what an aqueduct was 'with out the ducks'? So over all it was good!!!
