A Book You Will Read Again and Again!

What impressed me most about this book is the author's relaxed writing style, which draws the reader in immediately. It is admirably devoid of dry academic jargon that makes some psychology books tedious to read. It also avoids trendy, self-help suggestions that promise a quick fix but can't deliver. Instead, Dr. Gottlieb writes on a personal level, sharing experiences from his own life. In this book, one finds realistic, practical advice for overcoming personal tragedy, coping with relationships, surviving the loss of a loved one, and understanding what makes others tick. Whenever I have a problem, I consult this book. This is a book you will read again and again for its wise and timeless advice.

    A great read - anytime!

I am an avid listener of his show and reader of his columns, and I must say that this book will make a follower out of anyone. My favorite articles over the years are all in here; somehow the tragic stories of peoples lives are related to the mundane issues we all deal with on a day-to-day basis. His sense of humor, sense of family and sense of being oozes in the columns. I also enjoyed the format of compiling the columns - I could pick it up for a quick read over coffee anytime, or for a long read before bed. Thanks, Dr. Dan, for your wisdom. Sincerely, A fan from NJ
