    Pristine Canada.....

This is one of the best books I have read in years! It is certainly a 'time machine' to take one back to pristine Canada in the 1800s. I did not want this book to stop. A must read for the new year!

    Outstanding!

I was quickly taken up in the flow and history of this well written, well researched book. I enjoy stories of the rugged men and women who suffered and survived the demands of the frontier wilderness, and this book stole my heart away immediately.

    Good Stuff!

A little long winded...but good. I also could not put this book down. For awhile I forgot that this was not a true story. Money well spent. Good luck to the author.

Best Historical Fiction read this year

I learned so much --about the fur trade, the Indian tribes and their threatened lifestyle, the Quaker beliefs, wilderness survival, what true love means, what true friendship means....and I cared deeply for each and every character. What an adventure to be on and to try to distill into a journal. The author succeeds brilliantly, for I could not put it down!
