My thoughts on The Way of the Gladiator
I thought this book was outstanding. It gives you a broad sense of just how much the roman mob loved the violence of the arena. No matter how many people died in the arena each day, the mob stil cried for more. The emperors used the arena to keep the mob's minds off the internal problems of Rome. The author gives great descriptions and stories to help explain just how violent and brutal these games were, and just how much the crowd loved every minute of it. This just shows you how strong an empire can become and just how feared it can be in the world. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone with a love of history, such as myself. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
