This is an interesting and emotional journey of healing for one
This is an interesting and emotional journey of healing for one girl who suddenly wakes up from a coma after six months. It’s awkward, but of course it would be if you woke up and didn’t remember your own name let alone your parents or anyone. There is some romance here, which is what I feel Shelly Crane’s strength is, but the focus is more on the rehabilitation of Emma. The best part is that the romance is gradual and not that insta-romance that’s so popular. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Frankly, I think this book could have used a lot more editing, and I mean that overall, not just grammatically. Redundancies occur often and there are several inconsistencies regarding plans the characters make, Emma’s actions and feelings, and time. I also think that Emma could have used yet more personal growth as she often comes off as dense and weak.
I wasn’t truly invested in Emma’s story until about half way through, and even then it was a little frustrating. I appreciated her struggle to reconcile her past with her present, but the way she went about it made me shake my head a lot in disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised with how some elements of the story played out, but overall the biggest obstacle in this plot is Emma herself. She’s just not consistently likeable, but at least the ending is nice all around.
While the heroine of the story isn’t my favorite, her struggle to put her life back together and the love she finds along the way is endearing in its own way. Worth checking out!

I was pretty disappointed. Felt way too rushed and I couldn't even finish it. There wasn't much depth to the story all. The writing wasn't bad but I found a couple grammar errors. Maybe the author should have spent more time building up to events and characters. Pretty upset I wasted $4 on a book I wasn't interested to finish. To each is own I guess. Was this review helpful?
