Relaxing and Pleasant Read
The images in Wading Home of a family surviving hurricane Katrina helped to personalize the suffering and tragedies of the hurricane. The family in the story also communicated their love of the city of New Orleans and it's history. The stereotypical images of that time in New Orleans do not show the city, the politicians, and, even, the people in a good light. Wading Home just shows good people going through an awful time.
