Solid debut novel! Very deep world here and LOTS of action. Some of the best fantasy names I've ever heard and the artwork was cool too. Very vivid book that pulls you into each scene. I think I'll have to get it four stars though since the world-building could have been trimmed down a bit. Very worthwhile read if you get through the occasional detail-rich chapter. Of course, Tolkien had the same problem. I remember him talking about a hill forever. Looking forward to the next book.

    A good quick read

I'm enjoying the series so far. In the first book we meet Shade, a dark elf assassin, the top assassin of his day. I enjoyed the story and the new characters and the world that was built. I have started the second book and I'm enjoying it too. The books are only 200 plus pages, but there's a good story packed in there.
