    soul touching

Being part cherokee I hardly ever get to hear the language spoken, but when I heard this group sing it brought tears to my eyes.

    AWESOME!

My husband is part Cherokee and I purchased this CD for him...we both fell in love with it instantly! Listening to the music and lyrics, one can't help but visualize the Cherokee walking the Trail of Tears and feel their pain and sorrow. And then to hear Amazing Grace sung in the Native Cherokee language is awesome - the addition of the bagpipes was a wonderful surprise. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this wonderful CD!

    Beautiful songs of our Heritage

I've always been proud of my Cherokee heritage and this CD brings life to the old stories. When I hear "I'll Turn My Radio On" I can just close my eyes and picture my Mother singing with her sister and my Grandmother. Such a beautiful tribute to our past. I was very proud to see Walela at the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics, what a great choice of entertainers to represent our country.

Walela puts me in touch with my Cherokee roots

From the first moment I heard Walela's songs I loved them. I listen to this first CD over and over. I especially love the Cherokee language used in it. There is a lot of music for the money. The harmony is superb. I have purchased it for friends and relatives and highly recommend this.

the best haunting Native Indian Music

Between Rita Coolidge and Robbie Robertson..it does not touch ones soul, nor become more real and haunting, than this. Tears fall for what used to be and pride prevails for what as yet to come. For we are the gate keeper of our ancestors and the pathway of our tomorrows..listen to the Elders words of wisdom, if only the world knew the peace that comes from being Native Indian...though we must continue to fight for the land...for a time, the music lets us forget and we stand proud..someday the world will know that we 'The Indian Nation' stood before them.
