Couldn't finish

Anna is a complete shrew, constantly arguing and complaining. Why would the author make the female lead so unpleasant? You can be a strong woman without being a b*tch! I read about half of the book but Anna's nagging was ridiculus. I definately do not recommend this book or this author

    fast-paced, passionate Americana romance

In 1869 on the journey west to place the orphans in good homes in Hays, Kansas, New Yorker Mr. Bilsworth dies in Kansas City. Before passing away, the dedicated Bilsworth obtains a death bed pledge from Anna Wiley to finish their trek to find good homes for the children. After a period to insure no one else caught Mr. Bilsworth illness, Anna and the children board a train that includes a prisoner, the younger brother to the dangerous War Cloud. When the Indian eludes his jailers, the very tall Anna hides him under her long dress.
Her kind action proves fruitful when War Cloud attacks the wagon train she is now on and agrees to escort Anna and the children to a white community. As they journey together, Anna begins to learn the way of the Cheyenne and War Cloud starts to admire the bravery of the woman who he now believes will end the family curse. Still, he hesitates to tell her that he loves her, not just because she is white, but because he fears that if he is wrong about her the curse will devour his beloved.
WAR CLOUD¿S PASSION is a passionate Native American historical romance that centers on adhering to one¿s values so love can overcome any obstacles. The story line starts slowly as Karen Kay paints the background dilemmas affecting the intrepid Anna. However, once War Cloud enters the tale, the plot explodes into a fast-paced, passionate Americana romance that will provide much gratification to sub-genre readers.
Harriet Klausner
