A peek into different techniques to add texture to your art and craft work. It seems to give it a modern, almost abstract look. Tucker provides step by step illustrations to guide you in these new techniques. Some I was already familiar with and have used in the past. Such as stenciling page 107, Crackle Page 17, Scratching and Combing Page 57 and Sponging Page 89. Three new treatments I found interesting were Snow-Tex, page 48 and Pouncing, Page 43. Tissue & Paper Textures Page 69.

If you are looking for new mediums to add to your work then you should check out Water-Based Texturing - Techniques & Inspirations for Artists, Teachers, and Craftsmen. You may be interested in using some of the techniques described as an interior design tool as well. A mountain scene on the wall add in few styles and suddenly you have a three demintional mural. So many ideas give way to so many different applications. So many yet to try.
