Water Buffalo Days is about a young boy, Nhuong, who lives in the hills of Vietnam with his mom, dad, and many different animals. One of the kinds of animals they have are water buffaloes. When Nhuong¿s favorite water buffalo, Water Jug, dies he is heartbroken and thinks he can never get over him and could never get another buffalo. All of that changes when their family gets a new buffalo. Nhuong names his new buffalo Tank and Tank becomes his new best friend. Tank was fierce and fought off tigers and wild hogs that threatened the village. Tank was a very strong buffalo he could work all day and wouldn¿t have gotten tired. This book was a very easy read, but at some points it could be difficult. It was sad and happy it was also very compelling towards the beginning. This book grabbed my attention after reading the second or third chapter. While reading this book, it was hard to put down but at some chapters I wanted to put it down because of the sad details. Water Buffalo Days was a book that I would read twice and would recommend this book to people who like books with happy beginnings and sad endings. Was this review helpful?
