    Entertaining

I picked this book up at Target thinking it'd be a funny, quick read. I'd never read Notaro before and was bored. I found it overall pretty entertaining although this 223 page book turned out to be a month's undertaking, not because the language was hard or the print was microscopic but simply because I couldn't get into it. I love a good book that you just can't put down and yet I hate starting books and not finishing them so I finally buckled down and finished the thing but it felt sort of like homework. This book has its funny moments. Although the sometimes forced pop culture references were annoying I found myself laughing more and more towards the latter end but truth be told it lags a bit and you just might find yourself struggling not to put it down during the whole flippy hair thing. To prospective readers, its witty enough, hang in there. It gets good but don't expect this to be the best book you've even read.

    Fantastic Book, Fantastic Author

This was my first Laurie Notaro book. It is by far the funniest book I've ever read. Funny really doesn't even begin to describe it. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard reading a book. I took it with me to a doctor's appointment and I'm pretty sure that the entire waiting room thought I was insane. What I like best is the humor is continuous throughout the book. I laughed with each page (and sometimes each paragraph). There are pieces that I still laugh when I think about them. I plan on reading everything that Laurie Notaro has written and I recommend this book to everyone.

    The Funniest Lady Alive!

Let me tell you...this author is HILARIOUS! When I read this book, I was laughing out loud...at work (on lunch breaks, etc...) My co-workers thought I had gone crazy, but then I gave them the book. One-by-one, each of their offices were filled with hysterical laughter. Laurie Notaro is a master at describing life in the funniest way possible. I literally have recommended this book to all of my friends & family.

    Absolutely Hilarious

I loved it. Normally I only read steamy romance novels and its hard to get me to read anything else but this book was just too funny. I could relate only too easily.

    loved it

i was first attracted to this book because the title sounded funny, and after i was done reading it i was a little sad because her stories kept me company most nights...the interaction between her and her husband was so funny, it reminded me of how my sister and i are to our husbands. i look forward to reading more of her books!

    Hee, hee, hee

I love Laurie Notaro, and contrary to some of the other reviewers, I AM her biggest fan. This book was just as silly as Ms. Notaro's other stories. My favorite bit was about the neighbor with all the cats (doesn't everyone have a smelly person like this in their lives?). I can't wait for her new Christmas book. I want to say thanks to Laurie for helping me wet myself just a little while reading. Hee, hee, hee.

    Loved It!!!

Ms. Notaro and her life are absolutely hysterical. I hated to put it down. My sister picked it up, intrigued by the title, and ended up running off with it. Wonderfully funny book!!!

    Good, but....

I am probably the biggest Laurie Notaro´s fan after reading Fat Bride. Her past 3 books are the only ones that have made me laugh out loud and normally took me less than 2 days to finish them, and I was expecting the same from this one. I don´t say that WTYWBP is a bad book, it made me laugh as well, which is exactly what I wanted, but to me it´s just not as fun as the others. I know her books are not Nobel Prizes nor Agatha Christie´s novels, but I think this time she abuses the resource of her self-depreciation and focuses less on telling entertaining anecdotes. Anyway, I will be eagerly waiting for the next book.

As Idiot Girls say, this book rocks!

I've learned as I've worked my way through Laurie's books that it depends on where you are in your life as to which book is your favorite--and I have to say that this Prettier book is a really good follow up to I Love Everybody. It still has the bottom line LOL's that Laurie readers have come to expect from her (and plenty of them), but there's something else here, too, that really makes this book shine--a touch of maturity, maybe some reflection (not to get too sentimental!)--that takes this book to the next level. It's a great, fast enjoyable read that's wonderfully satisfying at the same time. Looking forward to the next book in November!
