Not What I Thought

After waiting months I went to B&N to pick up my copy and I was not happy. When I found out Welcome to the Jungle was not a novel but really a comic book, I felt like the victim of a really bad joke. I kept looking around the store for the "real" book.

Big Disappointment! Not a typical Dresden Novel!

I pre-ordered this hardback thinking it was a continuation of Butcher's Dresden File series of novels. Barnes and Nobles had it listed as the 11th in the Dresden File series. Although I love the Dresden novels I was very disappointed that this was not a novel but a comic book story. I'm not into comics. I'll no longer be pre-ordering from Barnes and Noble as the info for this release was very misleading.

    Welcome to the Jumble

I had pre-ordered this book. Thankfully while looking over what was to be shipped to me within a week I read one of the other reviews which identified this as a graphic novel. No where on this book title or description does it acknowledge that this is a comic book! Luckily I was able to stop my order. Strike one, Barnes & Noble.

    What a disappointment

Before complaining, I went to the site and checked to see if I had missed fair warning- nope. Nothing on the site except bad reviews said anything about a graphic novel (read: comic book). Artwork is horribly bad and does not match the Dresden Files, though it may match the TV show- we don't get it over here. Bad enough the service is horribly slow (for the same price I can get a book in 2 days from other sites vice over a month) but this is the third item deliberately and horribly misrepresented on this site.<BR/>Stick with the real stuff. Go Team Dresden!

    Graphic novel, my cloven posterior...

I understand how after Sci-Fi Channel mutilated Mr. Butcher's books he needed to seek another audience for them, in case those of us who buy everything he writes and who live vicariously through Bob eventually tire of him, but a comic book?! oh, excuse me, a graphic novel?! get the heck out of here! what a waste of time: mine AND Butcher's.

    I want my money back

I have become addicted to the Files. I waited and was thrilled for the next installment only to find its a comic book; an expensive comic book. I read the author comments and he may be thrilled but his reader base isn't. Can I please have my adult fantasy fiction version back.

    Buyer beware!

I was very disappointed to see that I'd been duped into buying an expensive, hardcover comic book. I'm upset with everyone who had anything to do with putting this book out and tricking all the loyal fans into thinking this was another 'novel' in the Dresden Files Series. I'll only buy a book by Jim Butcher if I can see it first (I usually buy online). I wish I could have given this book a no star rating....one star is too high.
