The Art of Storytelling

I felt that K'wan's Section 8 was the author's best work, until the release of Welfare Wfieys. A master storyteller, K'wan communicates directly to the reader. In the fourth installment of the Hoodrat series, Malika is singlehandedly raising her teenage son, Solomon. Tiresome of knowing that his mother is struggling to make a dollar out of fifteen cents, Solomon devises a plan to earn a fast buck. Jada's baby daddy, Cutty, is locked down and he left her in charge of his affairs. Unfortunately, Jada could care less about holding Cutty down. Her days consist of recovering from running the streets the night before. Animal and Gucci have returned to their old stomping grounds. Unbeknownst to Gucci, Animal has a settle to score while Gucci is anxious to hang out with her old "crew". However, Gucci finds herself distrustful of Animal's love and suddenly their return to New York isn't what neither has expected. Tionna, now living in a more stable environment, is still seething over Don B's disrespect and the notion that he had everything Tionna owned, destroyed in a suspicious fire. At Gucci's suggestion, Tionna is cautious of accepting her newly drug free mother back into her life. Someone has a grudge against Don B, the showy and devious owner of Big Dawg Entertainment. The problem is, he's screwed over so many people, that it's difficult for him to recognize precisely whose gunning for his head. Welfare Wifeys is harshly realistic rather than romanticized. In the end, the reader will find themselves savoring and treasuring K'wan's masterful storytelling. Lastly, I don't agree with one of the editorial reviews. I don't feel that an author should always tie up loose ends. I personally enjoy thinking about what the author has penned and depicting my very own conclusion.
