A very bad book. These guys don't know anything about well-being

A very bad book. These guys don't know anything about well-being. In their company they have people subtract their time spent in the restroom from the time interviewing on the phone. Like the failed Strengths Finder's test, this is light on substance and these guys are just basically trying to play God. They're trying to decide who is healthy mentally and physically as well as who is not. They also use tax payer dollars to do it.

    I Also Recommend:

A must read for any and all interested in finding the right balance in life...

In this book based on the Gallup Organization's Strengths Finder 2.0 it explores the determined Five Essential Elements of a person's well being.

Each chapter discusses each of the five elements and it's importance to one's well being and then gives you three recommendations for boosting your wellbeing in that area. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your own copy so you can take the Strenghts Finder online test (I'm a HUGE fan of Gallup's Strengths Finder tests as are many employers and even school districts). This books is a quick easy read and a definite must if you are looking to improve your overall wellbeing whether you feel comfortable with where you are at or looking to see improvement in any of these areas. The study is explained in the second half of the book and the facts and statistics will blow you away!

    more from this reviewer

Solid research-based report on how to attain happiness

Gallup Inc., the world's most experienced polling organization, set out to determine what makes people happy. In this book, Tom Rath and Jim Harter, two Gallup professionals, dissect the organization's complex research findings. Real well-being depends on a blend of satisfaction in five distinct areas: work, money, health, social life and community. For entirely practical reasons, not everyone can follow Rath and Harter's advice, no matter how sound it may be. For those who can adhere to its precepts, this is a solid, revealing and useful text on happiness. getAbstract recommends the authors' all-inclusive philosophy of well-being and notes that this book comes with another bonus: special access codes to Gallup's online "Well-being Finder," which readers can use to measure their leadership strengths and track their well-being quotient.
