Loved this book...Well researched and highly original

This book was a lot of fun. I don't think it is to be taken super-seriously, however there is a lot here that is on the level of the most popular self-help books in terms of solid advice. With the demise of a recent fairly young pop star (ie, Michael Jackson), and people asking how Keith outlived him, well, if you read this book, you might understand. There's so much philosophy and attitude to what has kept him going and being the archetypal survivor. There's some history, one recipe, lots of facts, some self-help advice from Keith, and mostly, there's lots of quotes, set up according to subject, just like in a typical Daily Affirmations book, on subjects from Courage to Addiction to Survival and Nutrition, plus some insults. Fun and recommended, most definitely for rock n roll fans.

Keith Richards fans have found their Holy Grail!

Keith Richards fans have found their Holy Grail! Jessica West illuminates with a thoughtful, picaresque, thorough and thoroughly entertaining light the many aphorisms and applications of the "heroin-addled guitar player from the projects" who ended up as a "twenty-first century philosopher and urban street guru." One of my favorite sections is "Keith and Nietzsche" where the author finds the wisdom of celebrated philosophers mirrored in quotes from Keith -- "Life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced" (Kierkegaard) and "I like the expanding vision of life, of what goes on. I find it a fascinating story -- a great book." (Keith) -- Yes, a great book indeed!

I have read many books about the Stones and about Keith in parti

I have read many books about the Stones and about Keith in particular. This one sums up his attitude, sense of humor, thoughtfulness and intelligence. He is a dedicated musician and loving friend and family man. Lots of insight into his life and how he lives it.

    good book/good gift

I read this book before I gave it to my Rolling Stones' fan brother for his b-day. Good read, actually inspiring in a weird way.
