This is the first pregnancy book that I purchased when my husband and I decided to start trying for baby. I wanted a book that could guide me past the basic information that everyone learns in sex education to more detailed information. I found the book to be quite informative about the direction that I needed to move in first before becoming pregnant. The book is written in question and answer format which I did not like. My questions about some topics were answered and others were not. This is a perfect way to create your list of questions for you doctor.

I picked this book over "What to Expect When You're Expecting" because I thought it would more specifically target a person TTC. There isn't much in this book that can't be found in the "When You're Expecting" version, so that's why I rated it lower in some areas. I would skip this selection and just go for "When You're Expecting" if given the choice again for myself or for others that have some ideas of what preconception planning brings. This book is a good choice for someone who really feels lost and doesn't know where to start, but unless that is you just skip it.

    more from this reviewer

    Got me pregnant! =)

I read this book, took its advice and the next time my spouse and I tried to conceive, a baby appeared! I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my first child, a baby girl. They do give you really good advice and they make it really easy to pinpoint ovulation but the advice was kind of the sme thing over and over again. Recommended but borrow it, dont waste money on something that gives you the same advice over and over again without going on to something new.

Not only for soon to be moms but dads too!

Overall, this is a great book for anyone who is looking to plan on TTC or is TTC. This book explains all the little things that health class in high school didn't tell you and beyond. I stongly recommend this book for anyone who may be having fertitlity issues. Lots of charts and such to keep you on track. I lost three lbs just by reading chapter 2 about healthy weights for TTC.
Easy read for soon to be mom and dad!

A very basic guide of the ins and outs of trying to concieve.

I purchased this book during talks with my wife about trying to concieve. I was looking for something that could inform her on what to do and what not to do while enlightening me somewhat on the process all-together. I am very pleased with the information contained in the book, as well as the method in which it is organized. I would definately reccomend this book to anyone wishing to concieve in the future.

    My Issue

This book has amazing advice. But it just seemed so overwelming. It got to the point where i started crying in the waiting room of my doctors office because i was deadly afraid to do somthing bad to effect the baby. However, after i followed everyword of what this book had to say i got preagnet and we are due for our little girl, Edith in May. My advice is: Don't overwelm your self. Its not good for you. But do take it into concerderation what this book says. Good Luck!:)

    Good Read!

Informative & helpful although a lot of the subjects covered seemed to be things most people would already have knowledge of.
